For a beach home in the Hamptons, designer Poonam Khanna of the firm Unionworks clad a monolithic kitchen island in shiny brass that will naturally patinate over time, offset by streamlined cabinetry. The pendant lights are by Apparatus.

If your style leans glamorous, get a load of Martyn Lawrence Bullard’s kitchen. Here, custom cabinetry (painted in a freshly picked green shade), island, and hood are by Christopher Peaco*ck while outsize light fixtures by Bullard for Corbett Lighting float above. While many will opt to conceal their luxury appliances, some will opt to cleverly camouflage them. In this home designed by Los Angeles-based firm LAUN, the kitchen features a custom stone island and unlacquered brass cabinetry. The green lacquered box was built on-site by Maneuverworks to conceal a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator as well as internal cabinetry and shelving for dishes, pantry items, and appliances.

Appliances are a focal point in this kitchen designed by Steven Gambrel, outfitted with a custom hood, sink fittings by Waterworks, and kitchen counters in Calacatta Gold marble. The cabinetry is painted in Benjamin Moore’s Stonington Gray and the walls are sheathed in Walker Zanger tiles.

In this Sonoma estate designed by Ken Fulk, the kitchen features an antique oak-plank floor with painted chevron cabinetry that conveniently hides the refrigerator. The marble backsplashes add texture to the neutral palette while the 1960s ceiling lamps are by Swedish designer Anders Pehrson.

The juxtaposition of a white marble countertops and black marble dining table creates a dynamic color story in the kitchen area of this Jett Projects apartment. The table is a custom design in Nero Marquina marble, the chairs are from Carl Hansen & Søn in a custom color and the pendant fixture is by Volker Haug Studio.
