The 12 best dumplings in Katoomba (2024)

The Bygone Beautys Treasured Teapot Museum & Tearooms is a museum that showcases an extensive collection of antique teapots. The tea house also includes a gift shop where visitors can purchase tea ware from around the world.

Best Devonshire Tea I've had in ages! Lovely fresh scones, with no skimping on the jam and cream, and great coffee and tea. My Mum had the bread and butter pudding, which was also to die for. The quirky vintage setting with teapots galore is definitely unique and something to experience if you like cafes with a bit of character. And the staff were lovely, even though it was Easter Saturday and they were flat out. All in all a wonderful experience, and we'll definitely be going back to try the high tea. (also bonus points for parking round back!!)

We met friends for lunch here & everyone enjoyed their meals. It’s lovely home cooked style food which is quite delicious. 👌🏼 The staff were wonderful, very attentive & friendly.I detracted one star from a perfect 5/5 score because the pot of ‘House Specialty Tea’ was too weak, it needed another scoop of tea leaves, maybe they just forgot to add ‘One for the pot’.We will definitely be back, it’s a wonderful place. 👌🏼

Such a lovely experience and the food, tea and coffee was delicious! Loved the ambience of the place and the old world charm it offered. Recommend a visit even if you choose not to dine or drink tea. For those on a budget wishing to dine, it is on the pricier end of the scale.

Scones are great. Apple pie is awful, and it took 20 minutes longer than everything else. The server we had brought everything out at random times and forgot the milk. Had to go through the maze of teapots to find him, a few times. All scones are served on the same tray and jam and cream in big pots rather than individual serves.Owner is very petty when we tried to explain our frustration with the delay and having to go looking for our server. Such a shame and he clearly doesn't make an effort to train his staff as they need a bit of encouragement.

Thought it was an interesting place so made a stop, what a mistake. It was expected that we would pay a little more for the atmosphere and it being so near the touristy parts but the wildly defensive attitude of the owner/manager was totally unexpected. When we were seated, we weren't ready to order so we asked for a few minutes, but no one returned to us for roughly half an hour. Food wait times on top of that was long and when we chased up on the order, we more or less got told we were being unreasonable.Scones and tea sets were sold as single or doubles to share with singles being slightly more expensive but when all our orders came, it was actually a communal jam and communal cream for the whole table. Totally defeats the single set option. Our teas and food were "dropped" onto the table making loud clanking noises.Food was average, I think the jam is from a jar from the supermarket. Tea was alright. Felt like we paid to wait and be told off by the man in charge who told us that we in fact, did not wait that long.If you want "fantastic customer service" whilst being both ignored and aggressively catered to, this is your magical stop. If not, skip it, much better options on the main street.

Highly recommend this gorgeous place! This was our third visit to the Bygone Beautys Treasured Teapot Museum and Tearooms! The staff are always so welcoming and friendly. The Devonshire Tea is AMAZING! Delicious menu and so much to look at while being transported back to another era!

Soon as you walk in it feels like entering a time capsule of cozy charm. Their vast selection of teapots and cups, each with its own story and aroma, creates an enchanting atmosphere. A hidden gem worth visiting time and again!"The home made scones with an English breakfast tea go down well. Not to mention a bowl of hot pumpkin soup on a cold day for an afternoon apetiser.

Service was unprofessional. A cup of tea costs $15.😰First of all, I’m so Sorry for posting my ridiculous review. I thought it was a good idea to drive two hours and enjoy the museum. The tea books sale there also had a novel idea, so I bought a few for family gifts. However, I ordered the same tea with another friends, but only one teapot we have to share with other friends. And I didn’t expect The filter hole was large and the leaves are all mixed into the tea cup. a little disappointed in the detail. There’s many different filters size. And I have questions,1, Does the teacup design difference depending on the price of the tea you drink there?Because compared to the beautiful tea cups I had seen in the museum, the tea cups I drank were not very attractive. for the price I paid. If there’s different teacups I’d like visit you again!!!2Are you unwilling to listen to a customer's critique?3.Isn't it the order to first ask what the problem was?4.Wasn't a review supposed to describe how I felt when I visited there?Lastly, A bad review can sometimes help your shop.

Captivating, charming and curious this cafe/restaurant is serving up high tea the way it was served in the height of the British Empire. Generous high and afternoon teas with hot food, sandwiches, cakes and scones with jam and cream of course. It’s all about tea not coffee here , massive selection.Lunch menu too.Good venue for visitors to Blue Mountains but do book. Ask to be seated in one of the main dining rooms to get the full atmosphere. Outside seating options too.Visit the teapot museum adjoining the cafe. This is a must visit and if you go in spring the whole street is lined with cherry blossom trees in bloom.Love from your local guide - M( please like my post of helpful )

If you're looking for a charming and delightful tearoom experience in the Blue Mountains, then look no further than Bygone Beautys Treasured Tearoom. From the moment you walk in, you're transported to a bygone era of elegance and sophistication. One of the standout features of this lovely tearoom is undoubtedly the Devonshire tea. Served with freshly baked scones, rich cream, and delicious jam, this is a must-try for anyone who loves a good cuppa. But there's so much more to the menu than just tea and scones. The lunch options are varied and delicious, with something for everyone. I highly recommend the open-face salmon sandwich. The tearoom is beautifully decorated, with vintage furnishings and intricate details that transport you back in time. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the service is impeccable.Overall, Bygone Beautys Treasured Tearoom is an absolute gem in Leura. I had stumbled upon this hidden gem in my google search. I experienced service from a bygone era that most places are lacking these days. The food was delicious and arrived to the table in a timely manner. I would recommend making a booking as to not be disappointed as this gem rarely had an empty table. They cater for wheelchair users with disabled parking and internal lift. This amazing place is going to be one I visit on a regular basis.

Amazing collection of teapots. Please do try their cafe. Their in-house tea was so refreshing to pair with the scones. The Lasagna, pumpkin soup, everything was so yummm. Commendable customer service as well. The staff were so nice and pleasant.

This lovely tea centre was a real highlight of my trip to the Blue Mountains. Really loved browsing the small museum section which showcased tea pots from around the world - some dating back to 1800! I would assume bus loads of visitors would come here as a stop on their itinerary.

Must stop at this place if you're in Leura, splendid experience, good coffee ☕ and very good customer service.A very different experience like you are in a Victorian era. Such good collection of kettles and crystal and lots of more things. There is also a shop where you can buy jewellery, and other items such as crockery, decoration items, knitted stuff etc. You wouldn't be disappointed.

We had a lovely high tea here. The gentleman who was our host was delightful. He was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious, served on bone china and silverware. The museum was delightful with so many teapots in all sizes, shapes and colours. There is also a shop where you can buy some amazing treasures. It's also disability friendly and parking is on site. It was well worth the trip up the mountains. They also serve Devonshire teas. I loved it

The museum was amazing. It was bigger than I expected, which was good. The scone and the tea was nice. The staff were very friendly with great smiles. I didn’t have to pay for entry because I purchased tea and food from the tea room. It was cheap. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Great location, right near leura’s main shopping street. We had the scones and tea set. ☕️Cream was not too sweet, very pleasant. 😍If you dine at the tearoom, you get free admission to the museum which was enjoyable and unique. 😚 However, there are many tables in the dining area which some may find too cramped. 🤨Highly recommend the vanilla sencha green tea❗️☀️

Quirky and fun, we had the best time here at Bygone Beautys. We enjoyed their champagne high tea as part of a girls trip/hens spa package with Spa Sublime, and everything we were served was delicious. We appreciated the ultra petite size of all the items too, including the delicate sandwiches, and even so, we couldn't finish it all as we were full to the brim! Lastly we were served by Deb, who needs to be showered with praise, as she made the whole experience so wonderful, theatrical and funny that it is one of the highlights of our trip. Also the strawberry and cream tea should not be missed!

Absolutely lovely place to stop and relax. We enjoyed the Devonshire Tea, with fresh scones, lots of tea choices and the best coffee in the Blue Mountains. Jason and Deb are lovely people and provide great service. Lots of stunning teapots in the museum. Thoroughly recommend.

Interesting, friendly and fun place to visit especially if you love tea ware. They have 10K+ teapots on display and some of them you can buy, in addition to teacups, tea accessories and other knick knacks. My friend and I had the Supreme High Tea which was lovely. Maurice, the owner, explained that they still roll the bread on the tea sandwiches, something that the Ritz in London does not do anymore. Jason, our host, was gracious and accommodating and even “challenged” us to a couple of trivia questions. The high tea is served with fanfare but will leave out the details so an element of surprise is left for when you visit. My favourite food was caramelised pastry and the cucumber sandwich.

Wonderful and cute experience surrounded by so many beautiful teapots. The scones were deliciously soft and the cream very fresh!

We were surprised to see people queueing to be seated at least at two Leura Mall eateries - I thought such queues were the thing of movies set in large American cities.Anyway, Bygone Beauties was empty and quiet - but the entire decor was a burden to view, almost kitsch in overloading the visual senses with ornate lights, museum pieces and porcelain wall hangings for sale.Savoury menu items were limited but very nice to consume - a variety of cheese melts, or sandwiches. The latter was advertised as either 4 or 8 points... I thought this was some sort of loyalty scheme, earning 'points'. It instead referred instead to how the fresh sandwiches were cut?
