The game combines high-speed parkour, precise melee combat, and one-hit-kill mechanics, requiring players to master dodging, slicing, and using special abilities to survive.

What You Can Expect Next Week

Next time, we're getting The Big Con and Town of Salem 2, which will be available for free from April 18 until April 25 in the Epic Games Store.

The Big Con

The Big Con is an adventure game set in a nostalgic version of 1990s America. Players take on the role of Ali, a teenage con artist who embarks on a crime-filled road trip to save her family's video rental store from closure by loan sharks.

The gameplay revolves around stealth mechanics like pickpocketing and disguises, while also offering dialogue trees that you have to navigate to swindle your way through a variety of unique settings.

Town of Salem 2

Town of Salem 2 enhances the social deduction gameplay from the first title with new roles and features. This sequel introduces greater customization, new strategic elements like scrolls for role selection, and improved communication tools. Players navigate the treacherous settings of Salem, utilizing one of over 50 different roles strategically to find the murderer among their ranks.

Why Epic Games Gives Away So Many Games

It's only natural to wonder why Epic Games keeps being so generous. The reason likely revolves around their main competitor in the gaming platform world: Steam.

Steam, operated by Valve, boasts about 130 million monthly active users. In comparison, Epic Games has about half of that according to the latest figures. The main goal for Epic probably is to provide a strong alternative to Steam, make their platform more appealing to game developers, and thus prevent Valve's platform from having an uncontested dominance.

To achieve this, Epic recently launched the "Epic First Run" program. This initiative rewards developers who offer their PC game exclusively on the Epic Games Store for a certain period. As users, the rivalry with Steam is a welcome one – after all, competition tends to invigorate the market, as shown by Epic's weekly free game offerings.
